To shop, or not to shop? That´s not really the question...
"Hi darling, I went to buy some black flat ballerina shoes. They didn´t have any, so I bought some in blue, beige and some black high heels." That´s a very common quote out of my mouth and it slips out nearly always, when I´m on a shopping mission. But that´s only because Tenerife makes it so easy...
No matter what you are looking for, a nice dress, some casual wear, a suit, shoes or accessories, this Canary Isle seems to be a little shopping paradise for exclusive brands for fashionistas and heavenly prices for bargain hunters.
Escada, Versace, Ralph Lauren, Prada, Fendi the address for brands, designer wear and fancy jewelry are the shopping centers called "Plaza del Duque" and "Safari Center" in the South of Tenerife. Also the "Corte Ingles" and the shopping street Calle del Castillo in the capital of Tenerife, Santa Cruz, offer a wide variety of glamorous and also famous brands like "Zara", "Mango" or "Cortefiel". And if you´re fed up with clothes, just go and shop for your senses, because around nearly every corner and in every shopping mall you can find perfumeries with very economical prices due to our reduced tax zone.
If your budget is quite small I´d advise you to look for outlets.
Outlets? In the Canary Islands? - Yes!
In Playa de Las Americas there are three of the most important shops for every female and male bargain hunter: "Mango", "Numero 1" and "United Colors of Benetton" outlets. In the North of the isle there are two huge outlets of "El Corte Inglés" where you´ll find high quality clothing for low prices and there´s a shoe outlet of "Carolina Boix" in La Laguna. That´s the one where I always end up with three pairs instead of one.
And just because we are on the island of eternal spring, doesn´t mean you can only get clothes for warm temperatures. Like all over Europe, the shops have their seasonal collections and are prepared for spring, summer, fall and winter.
So let´s go out and enjoy shopping. Oh and by the way, it´s winter now and although it does not get any colder then 21 degrees Celsius, I think I might urgently need some new boots...
